Jason Duncan is the head coach for the Wylie Lacrosse varsity and junior varsity teams. Jason began playing lacrosse while in high school when a family friend introduced him to the sport. For Jason, lacrosse offered a certain level of physical play that football could not offer him. Jason says, “Lacrosse was different. When I was asked to shut down my opponent and move the ball up field to help spark the offense, lacrosse became the most enchanting sport in the world.”

As for coaching lacrosse, Jason says he loves being able to give back to the community and finds it very rewarding to watch the players develop their own sense of responsibility, confidence, and accountability that will serve them well in the future. Jason knows that lacrosse, and sports in general, opened up a world of possibilities that would not have been available to him otherwise. Jason gives this advice to anyone thinking of trying lacrosse, “Find what you love to do and pour everything you have into it.  If you're not sure whether or not you have found that yet, come try lacrosse.”
